This is a new (March 2026) venue almost directly across the street from the condo. They have been working on these grounds for a few years. I have not been to this event yet but it looks very interesting albeit expensive. This might be better than a Luau and you can walk from the condo! Lanikai at Kahaluʻu, Kona is a three-hour cultural experience that invites guests into a deeper relationship with Hawaiʻi — its people, its history, and its living traditions. It is a gathering grounded in place, lineage, and reciprocity.
Through ʻoli (chant), hula (dance), mele (song), and storytelling, guests are welcomed into a historically significant space rarely accessible to the public. The stories of the aliʻi of this land are shared alongside personal lineage narratives that connect past, present, and future aspirations of Hawaiʻi.
Guests leave not only with greater understanding, but with a sense of contribution — knowing their presence directly supports living culture, community, and cultural education.
